Tour Itinerary for the 5 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari
Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth
Today, your safari guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala and transfer you to Queen Elizabeth national park. The park is located in Western Uganda on the foothills of Mountain Rwenzori. You will have a stop over at Mpambire royal drum makers and at the equator for a photo session. Have lunch en route before proceeding to Queen Elizabeth national park. You will get to your luxury lodge, check in and relax the rest of the day

Day 2: Sunrise Game Viewing and boat safari on Kazinga channel
Today you will wake up early, take some snacks and coffee and head out to the Kasenyi plains for the sun rise game drives to look out for the early risers like the lions, elephants, Uganda Kob, water buck, cape buffaloes, leopards, hyenas and wart hogs. The game drive normally takes 3 hours and you will return to the lodge for a heavy breakfast.
Later, you will have lunch before you go for the afternoon a 2.5 hour boat safari on Kazinga channel that connects Lakes Edward and George. This is one of the highlights of Queen Elizabeth national parks. Look out for elephants and African cape buffalos that come to quench their thirst from the banks of the Kazinga channel, Nile crocodiles, hippos, monitor lizards and the countless birds that dot the river banks. Birds include the African spoon bill, yellow billed stork, herons, African skimmers, cormorants, marabou storks, pelicans, king fishers, water thick knee, and fish eagles.
You will return to your lodge for your hearty dinner and overnight

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura gorge – Transfer to Semuliki national park
Today after early breakfast, your safari guide will transfer you to Kyambura. You will be briefed about the chimpanzee tracking, rules and what to expect before you head out to the gorge to get up close and personal with the chimpanzees- man’s closest relatives. There is a 50/50 chance of seeing the chimps in the gorge but even though you don’t see them, the gorge will count for that. It has beautiful sceneries. Don’t forget to look out for other primates like Black and white Colobus monkeys, L’Hoest monkey among others.
In the afternoon after the chimpanzee tracking, you will be transferred to Semliki National Park which is only a 4 hours drive. This beautiful national Park is found at the western border of Uganda and Congo Republic next to Lake Albert. It covers part of the Eatsern part of the Ituri forest joining Uganda and Congo River separated by the Semuliki River. About 400 bird species mostly forest birds call this park home.
You will get at the lodge in time for the night game drive that will reward you with nocturnal wildlife of the park that include bush babies, pottos among others.
You will stay in a luxury lodge which is also the oldest lodge in the Toro – Semliki Reserve.

Day 4: Lake Albert Boat trip
Today morning, you will have early breakfast and go for a guided boat trip on Lake Albert, a very stunning and photogenic lake. Look out for pygmy hippos, crocodiles, water bucks and the numerous birdlife that beautify the lake banks.
You will return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will relax at your own pleasure.

Optional Activity
Batwa pygmy experience – Instead of the boat trip on Lake Albert, you can opt to visit the Batwa people who originated from the Ituri Forest. You will learn about their life as it was during the forest days. You will learn about their hunting skills, how they used forest plants for medicines and their cultural dance that you can actually participate in.
Day 5: Sempaya Hot Springs Trail – Return to Kampala
Today after breakfast, you will go for the highlight attraction of Semuliki National park, the Sempaya hot springs which are very natural and shoot from an 8m hole at a very hot temperature that can cook eggs and plantain. Along the trail, don’t miss to look out for a countless bird species like blue breasted kingfisher and Frasier’s ant-thrush and of course the primates that include the grey-checked mangabey and red-tailed monkey. You will then proceed to Kampala with en route lunch
End of the Tour
Accommodation for tonight is not inclusive in the program. If you wish to depart tonight from Entebbe Airport, make sure your flight is at 10 pm or later. If you want us to book one (or more) nights in Kampala and/or Entebbe, please let us know.
