Day 1: Transfer to Semliki National Park- Night safari Drive
Today, your guide from Gorilla Link Tours will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala to Semliki National park. You will stop over in Fort Portal for lunch and after lunch you will proceed to the park. On your way to Semliki, you will admire beautiful views of the Albertine Rift Valley.
Semliki National park boarders with Congo next to Lake Albert and is part of the Eastern part of the Ituri forest that joins Uganda and Congo but separated by the Semliki River. The park is a bird watcher’s haven with about 400 forest bird species, 300 tree species and 53 mammal species that include the forest elephants, forest buffaloes, leopard, warthogs among others, and 11 diurnal species.
You will get at your lodge, and later go for a guided night game drive that will reward you with some nocturnal wildlife that include genet cats, night jars, slender and white tailed mongoose etc.

Day 2: Batwa Pygmy experience
Today after breakfast, you will go for a cultural visit to the Batwa people who originated from the Ituri Forest. You will learn about their life as it was during the forest days. You will learn about their hungting skills, how they used forest plants for medicines and their cultural dance that you can actually participate in.
Optional Activity
Boat trip on Lake Albert
Instead of the Batwa cultural experience, you may go for an optional boat trip on Lake Albert, a very beautiful lake. You will pay onsite or let us know if we should arrange it for you. During the boat trip, look out for pygmy hippos, crocodiles, water bucks, and all the other water animals that come to the lake. You will return back to the lodge for lunch and relax in the afternoon

Day 3: Visit Sempaya hot springs – Transfer to Kampala
Today after breakfast, you will go on one of the trails that will take you to one of the most popular attractions of the park, the Sempaya hot springs which are natural and have a geyser shooting up from an 8m wide hole at 100 degrees Celsius hot. You have an opportunity to cook plantains and eggs and consume them. During the trail, look out for a number of bird species like blue –breasted kingfisher and Frasier’s ant-thrush and primates like the grey-checked mangabey and red-tailed monkey. For the bird watching enthusiast, you may continue to Mungilo waterfall for more bird watching.
You will then proceed to Kampala

Accommodation for tonight is not inclusive in the program. If you wish to depart tonight from Entebbe Airport, make sure your flight is at 10 pm or later. If you want us to book one (or more) nights in Kampala and/or Entebbe, please let us know.
