Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, you will be met by your safari guide who will transfer you to your hotel in Nairobi. Check-in and rest after your journey, preparing for the adventure ahead.
Day 2: Nairobi to Masai Mara
After an early breakfast at your Nairobi hotel, embark on a scenic drive to Masai Mara National Reserve. The journey takes approximately 5-6 hours, passing through picturesque landscapes and local villages. Arrive at your lodge or camp in Masai Mara in time for lunch. After settling in, enjoy your first game drive in the afternoon, exploring the vast savannahs and searching for wildlife such as lions, elephants, giraffes, and more. Return to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight stay in Masai Mara.
Day 3: Full Day in Masai Mara
Wake up early for a morning game drive when wildlife is most active. Explore different parts of Masai Mara, known for its high concentration of wildlife and dramatic scenery. You may have the opportunity to witness a predator-prey interaction or a river crossing during the Great Migration season (July-October). After the morning game drive, return to your lodge or camp for a hearty breakfast. Spend the rest of the morning relaxing at your accommodation or optionally visit a nearby Maasai village to learn about their culture and traditions. In the afternoon, head out for another game drive, exploring different areas of the reserve. As the sun sets, enjoy the breathtaking views of the Mara and its wildlife. Dinner and overnight stay in Masai Mara.
Day 4: Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru
After an early morning game drive and breakfast in Masai Mara, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, approximately 5-6 hours away by road. Arrive at your lodge or camp near Lake Nakuru in time for lunch. Lake Nakuru is renowned for its flamingos that flock the shores of the lake, as well as its rhino sanctuary offering excellent chances to spot both black and white rhinos. After lunch, embark on an afternoon game drive around Lake Nakuru, exploring the park’s diverse habitats and wildlife. Keep an eye out for buffaloes, zebras, waterbucks, and numerous bird species. Return to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight stay near Lake Nakuru.
Day 5: Lake Nakuru to Nairobi
Begin your day with an early morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, maximizing your chances to see the wildlife at its most active. After the game drive, return to your lodge for breakfast. Depart from Lake Nakuru and drive back to Nairobi, approximately 3-4 hours away. En route, you can stop at Lake Naivasha or the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for scenic views and photo opportunities. Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your departure flight or dropped off at your Nairobi hotel.
