6 Days Fly-In Safari: Wildebeest Migration & Gorilla Trekking
This 6-day fly-in safari combines two of East Africa’s most iconic experiences—witnessing the Great Migration in the Maasai Mara and trekking to see mountain gorillas in Bwindi. The itinerary emphasizes convenience and comfort, ensuring you experience these remarkable adventures in style.
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
Upon arrival at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by your safari guide and transferred to your luxury hotel, such as Giraffe Manor or Hemingways Nairobi. Depending on your arrival time, you might visit Nairobi National Park or the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. Enjoy a relaxed evening and a gourmet dinner at your hotel.

Day 2: Nairobi to Maasai Mara
After breakfast, transfer to Wilson Airport for your flight to Maasai Mara National Reserve. Upon arrival, you will be met by a guide from your luxury camp, such as Mara Plains Camp or Governors’ Camp, and transferred to your camp.
After lunch, embark on an afternoon game drive to witness the Great Migration if you are visiting during the migration season (typically July to October). Experience the incredible sight of thousands of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles crossing the Mara River. Return to your camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Full Day in Maasai Mara
Spend a full day exploring Maasai Mara. Start with an early morning game drive to see wildlife at its most active. Return to your camp for a luxurious brunch.
In the afternoon, you can either continue with a game drive to witness the migration or opt for a hot air balloon safari, which provides breathtaking aerial views of the Mara’s vast plains. After your balloon ride (if selected), return to your camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Maasai Mara to Entebbe
After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi. From Nairobi, catch a connecting flight to Entebbe, Uganda. Upon arrival in Entebbe, you will be met and transferred to your hotel, such as The Boma Hotel or Protea Hotel by Marriott Entebbe. Spend the afternoon relaxing or exploring the area. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 5: Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early breakfast, take a flight to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Upon arrival, transfer to your luxury lodge, such as Buhoma Lodge or Silverback Lodge. Enjoy lunch and then spend the afternoon relaxing or taking a short guided nature walk.
Prepare for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure with a briefing on the rules and expectations. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & Departure
Start your day with an early breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for your gorilla trekking briefing. The trek through Bwindi’s dense forest can take anywhere from 2 to 8 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family you are visiting. You will spend an hour with the gorillas, observing and photographing these incredible creatures in their natural habitat.
Return to your lodge for lunch and some rest. Afterward, transfer back to Entebbe for your departure flight. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some time for last-minute shopping or relaxation in Entebbe before heading to the airport.
