Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi, Kenya
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide and transferred to your hotel for check-in. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to explore Nairobi, visiting places like the Karen Blixen Museum or the Giraffe Centre.
Day 2: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park
After an early breakfast, begin your journey towards Amboseli National Park. The drive takes you through scenic landscapes, with views of the African countryside and local villages along the way. Arrive at your lodge or camp in Amboseli in time for lunch, where you can enjoy stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro on clear days. In the afternoon, set out on your first game drive in Amboseli, known for its large herds of elephants and breathtaking vistas. Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Amboseli to Lake Naivasha
Start the day with an early morning game drive in Amboseli to catch the sunrise and witness wildlife in action. After breakfast at the lodge, depart for Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake renowned for its birdlife and picturesque surroundings. The journey takes you through the Great Rift Valley, stopping at viewpoints to admire the stunning landscapes. Upon arrival at Lake Naivasha, check-in at your lodge or camp and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a boat ride on Lake Naivasha, where you can spot hippos, various bird species, and even giraffes along the shoreline. Visit Crescent Island for a guided walk among wildlife if time allows. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge or camp near Lake Naivasha.
Day 4: Lake Naivasha to Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, depart Lake Naivasha and head towards Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its flamingos and rhino sanctuary. The drive is relatively short, allowing you to arrive in time for lunch at your lodge or camp within the park. After lunch, set out on an afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru, exploring the diverse habitats that support a wide array of wildlife. Keep an eye out for both black and white rhinos, as well as the park’s abundant birdlife. Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara National Reserve
Enjoy an early morning game drive in Lake Nakuru to capture the best wildlife sightings and serene landscapes at sunrise. After breakfast, check-out from your lodge and depart for Masai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa’s most famous safari destinations. The journey takes you through the scenic Rift Valley, offering panoramic views. Arrive at your lodge or camp in Masai Mara in time for lunch. In the afternoon, embark on your first game drive in Masai Mara, known for its vast savannahs and incredible concentration of wildlife, including the Big Five. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge or camp in Masai Mara.
Day 6: Full Day in Masai Mara
Spend the entire day exploring Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. This is your chance to witness the Great Migration if visiting during the migration season, as thousands of wildebeest and zebras cross the Mara River in search of greener pastures. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the heart of the reserve, surrounded by wildlife and the sounds of nature. Alternatively, visit a local Maasai village to learn about their culture and traditional way of life (additional cost). Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Masai Mara to Nairobi
On your final morning in Masai Mara, embark on an early morning game drive to capture any last wildlife sightings. Return to your lodge for breakfast and then check-out. Depart Masai Mara and drive back to Nairobi, where you can reflect on your safari adventures and enjoy the changing landscapes. Arrive in Nairobi in the late afternoon or early evening. Enjoy a farewell dinner at a local restaurant (own expense) and overnight stay at your hotel in Nairobi.
Day 8: Departure
After breakfast, depending on your flight schedule, you may have some leisure time. To explore Nairobi further or relax at your hotel. Transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your departure flight. Concluding your memorable 8-day safari through Amboseli, Naivasha, Lake Nakuru, and Masai Mara.
